A GIS realized by Istituto Centrale per il Restauro (Italian
Ministry of Culture).
Characteristics:

Data Base with cards realized directly on the field with alphanumeric,
graphic, photos and cartographic data. Software engine ARC/INFO-ARCVIEW
MAPINFO.

Particular attention on the territory in all its physical and anthropic
aspects (static-structural danger, environmental danger , anthropic danger,
physical-morphological characteristics, degree of urbanization and infrastructures,
planning instruments, constaints, etc.); the characteristics of conservation
of the cultural assets located in that territory.

Generic Cards: 57000 items (5000 archaeological), Database ORACLE,
ca 20 fields/card, no immages, no georeference

raster cartography.

The Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione has
the main mission of the constitution and management of the general Index
of Cultural Items (archaeological, historic-artistic, architectural, environmental,
anthropologic)
The cartographic data bases, actually in a test phase, are:

ATLAS: Digital cartographic files at a little scale, with various levels
related to admnistrative limits and environmental ties.

CARTOGRAPHIC BASE FOR CATALOGUING DATA: cartographic base with more layers
on a portion of PO river.

INDEX OF AERIAL COVERAGE: data base service of Aerofototeca; limits of
areas with aerial coverage on cartography IGMI 1:100.000, with technical
data on photograms.
An Information System realized by the Ufficio
Centrale Beni Ambientali e Paesaggistici (Italian
Ministry of Culture), called Sistema Informativo Territoriale Ambientale
e Paesaggistico (S.I.T.A.P.)
The Ufficio Centrale per i Beni Ambientali e Paesaggistici is managing
a National Information System with cartographic, graphic, alfanumeric,
tables data related to tie areas.

The Data Base is realized with integration between cartographic, graphic
and alfanumeric data.

Geographic Informations at the scale 1:25.000. All ties related to laws
1497/39 and 431/85 for the whole Italy. Archaelogical and architectural
ties by law 1080/39 are being updated.

Images, photos and documents on tie areas are stored.

The census of the archaeologic and historic-artistic heritage project has
realized a experimental data bank, on the basis of the photos, digitized
data and images of 225.000 cultural items of some south Italian regions.

Plants, survey and maps historic archive of the Archaeologic
Superintendence of Ostia
The data bank of plants, survey and maps Historic Archive of the archaeologic
Superintendence of Ostia contains 12000 maps preserved in the archives
to allow a future consultation without problems derived from manipulation.
The archives contains historic funds relative at the illustrations
and at the graphic documentations of the field intervention from 1800 till
now.
This documentation is articulated in two stages. In the first part
of the project there was the raster acquisition of a copy of the map, then
it is integrated with news about escavation and bibliography.

Cards on ca 20.000 archaeological items of Lazio with ca 1.600 images.

Archaeological Cards and Land Planning of Sassari
and Nuoro
A thematic map showing the final data coming from cataloguing on the field
from 1970 and 1996. DB with 681 cards MA, 320 cards on sites, 3380 images,
325 graphics.
Ports and Landing-Place in the antiquity
Localization and documentation of the archaeologic evidences, throught
an activity of surveying between land and sea, within the baptimetry of
10 meters.
Regions: Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Calabria, Basilicata and
Sicilia. DB with 4500 cards, 900 cartographic maps, 13.000 photographs.
The archaeologic map provides the establishement of a data bank containing
all the archaeologic informations relative at the land, connected to a
digitized cartography.
