Statium Punicum was one of the ports of the near Caere. Near Capo Linario was placed the Castrum Novum, roman colony and station of the Aurelia street. 
In locality Grottacce ( Aurelia st km. 58.2) there are the rests of roman villa provided of little private port and fish-pond. Near the Km 59.7 of Aurelia street has been found a stele with the names of Settimio Severo and Caracalla. 
In the zone are visible three roman bridges (Km 60.4, 60.7, 62.3).
